Powder River Energy Foundation

Powder River Energy Corporation is proud to be a part of the communities we serve.  Each year we support various community projects, and looking towards the future, we have envisioned a means to expand the community and member programs in which we are currently involved.    

With this in mind, a a tax exempt, not for profit, foundation has been established with funds to be used exclusively for charitable purposes.

Initial funding for the foundation will come from a program called Operation Roundup, which will be administered by PRECorp.  This program allows (with the consent of the member), PRECorp to “roundup” each of their accounts to the nearest dollar.  These monies are then transferred to the foundation for distribution.  PRECorp currently serves approximately 27,000 meters.  If each one of these accounts were included in Operation Roundup, at an average yearly contribution of $6.00 per account, this could potentially mean over $160,000 a year in donations that could then be distributed to our communities.  Funds will be dedicated to projects in PRECorp's service area. Contributions will be limited to not-for-profit organizations such as schools and civic groups.

All contributions to the foundation are tax deductible and each member will receive a year end summary of their contributions.
